Area 29 Humorous Speech Results – 5th October 2009

Despite transport problems Area 29 Toastmasters had a fantastic contest night. Competing for the Area title were:

Kedar Godbole (Trojans), Glen Savage (Riverside Communicators), Bruce Thompson (West London Speakers) and Peter van der Sloot (London Athenians).

First Place: Glen Savage of Riverside Communicators.

Leadership Awards June 2008
During June two members received leadership awards.

Franco Vaccaro, VP PR for Riverside Communicators gained the ‘old’ Competent Leader award. He completed his final assignment for the award by giving a beautifully crafted educational speech at the London Business School Toastmasters club.

Practicing what she preaches Maria Hemming became the first person at Riverside Communicators to complete the new Competent Leader manual. Maria has spent the last year on the committee as Leadership Coordinator promoting the revamped Competent Leader process. After all her hard work and encouragement to others it is great that she has completed the award during her term of office.

Congratulations to both Franco and Maria.

Competent Communicator Award May 2008
On 28th May 2008 Charya Long achieved the Competent Communicator Award. She gave a very polished and professional inspiring speech as the final step to completing her competent communicator manual. Many congratulations!

Competent Communicator Awards January 2008
During our January meetings Jenny Betts and Dorothea Stuart achieved their Competent Communicators awards. Their inspiring speeches clearly showed how they have both developed as speakers during their time as members of Riverside Communicators. They are both looking forward to the next stage of the journey!

Advanced Speaking Awards December 2007
Ian Harrison has achieved Advanced Toastmaster Bronze and Andrew Klimaytys is now Advanced Toastmaster Silver. The awards reflect great dedication from both Ian and Andrew in honing their speaking skills as well as the great contribution they both continue to make to Riverside Communicators.

Compentent Communicator Award June 2007
Sue Kennedy has achieved her Competent Communicator award. It was hard to believe that the Sue giving her Inspiring Speech was the same person who joined two years ago because she was so nervous about public speaking. On 20th June 2007 Sue gave a powerful speech and she exuded confidence and passion for her subject. Sue, many congratulations from all your friends at Riverside Communicators.

West London Area 29 Table Topics Contest 11th October 2006
Was won by Andrew Klimaytys. Andrew will go on to compete in the All London Division B contest.

Competent Communicator Awards July 2006
Geetha Mazarelo and Franco Vaccaro have both achieved the Competent Communicator award having completed the challenging manual of 10 speech projects. Both took the final step to achieving the award with high quality inspiring speeches. Congratulations to both of them.
